Iran Claims Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.
It said wreckage landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
