US actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.
The actor is remembered by his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
